Independence House is the only comprehensive community based resource on Cape Cod providing a full range of services for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and their children. We help individuals reestablish lives free of fear and violence. We believe individuals have the ability to make the best decisions for themselves and for their family. We facilitate their use of the courts, housing and other community resources that are appropriate for each circumstance. Our philosophy of self-help and self-determination helps individuals initiate change, make informed decisions and attain short and long-term goals, and so develop strengths and self-confidence that remain long after our direct services have ended.
Our services are free and confidential to all people regardless of race, origin, religion, age, income, marital status capabilities, lifestyle or sexual orientation. Individuals are not required to press charges to receive services. Independence House is supported by full and part time staff and many dedicated volunteers.
