Independence House is the only comprehensive community-based resource on Cape Cod, providing free and confidential services for survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence. Services are also provided to children of survivors.
We help individuals re-establish lives free of fear and violence with a philosophy of empowerment and self-help. We believe individuals have the ability to make the best decisions for themselves and for their family.
We share knowledge and skills needed to regain self-confidence, make informed decisions and initiate changes in one’s life. We provide information about access to resources and teach how to use the courts, social services, housing and other community agencies to help clients regain their independence. Individual strengths and abilities are developed with the ongoing support of counseling, groups, child care and education that remain long after our direct services have ended.
Our services are available to people of all ages, sexual orientations, cultures and languages.
Individuals are not required to press charges to receive services.
